21st Century Mask

he project is based on the theme of fear and threats of the 21st century – specifically war, ecological destruction, toxic environments and social crises. The original gas mask, an object of protection and at the same time a symbol of anxiety, is used as a basis and transformed into the form of a flower, a symbol of nature, regeneration, beauty and peace.

The mask is therefore a kind of satirical weapon – gentle, harsh, ridiculous and threatening.

The mask can be understood as a ritual protection against fears (not by covering up reality), but by ridiculing and transforming it, it is supposed to protect us.
