As part of the less is more brief, Echoes of Stillness is an animated reflection on the contrast between the fast-paced, overloaded contemporary world and the calm, peaceful nostalgia of childhood.
The project draws inspiration from the stillness of the Czech countryside, where time seems to have slowed down – the scenes capture my own or common memories of summers at my grandmother’s house.
The 3D scenes are complemented by microanimation, ambient sounds and noises and a handheld camera – the scenes function as a kind of “living memory”.
Echoes of Stillness invites viewers to reflect on their own nostalgic experiences, encouraging a moment of introspection and appreciation for life’s quiet, simple moments.
