Can soul be replaced by speed? This poster asks a question that resonates deeply in our 21st century. A horse – half alive, half mechanical – walks through an industrial landscape. The creature that carried humanity forward for centuries is, piece by piece, being replaced by metal components. A visual metaphor for the transition from the organic to the artificial. It reflects not only on the loss of authenticity in the age of mass production but also on current questions surrounding artificial intelligence and AI-generated art. The illustration was created in collaboration between a human and AI. Can the soul of art truly be replaced by the speed of production? Do we care more about the result than the process?
The poster was created as a contribution to the international exhibition Black and White – Classic or Modern: What Connects Us?, held as part of the Days of Industrial Culture Leipzig 2025.
