In my final thesis, I designed an interactive installation for the Wallachian Gallery, which presents traditional masks from Wallachia and the Carpathian region in an entertaining and educational way. The installation works on the principle of camera shooting of the viewer and projecting the image onto a wall or screen. In the resulting image, the mask is put on the face using hand gestures. It also reacts to other hand movements. With one hand, the viewer switches between individual traditional masks, and with the other controls their application or dissolution into particles. When the mask is put on, an infographic with its name, history, symbolism, appearance and regional context is projected in the background. When it is dissolved, period photographs of the respective mask are displayed. The installation thus connects tradition with digital language and draws the viewer into active contact with cultural memory.
