My main inspiration for the creation of my project was silence — a state that transcends generations, yet is gradually disappearing in today’s accelerated world. Silence is often replaced by constant background noise, which isolates us both from our surroundings and from ourselves. It is well known that silence has a positive effect on the nervous system, supports creativity, and allows the mind to regenerate. At the same time, however, it can have the opposite effect: in its extreme form, it becomes an unsettling mirror that intensifies the perception of one’s own body and internal sounds. This paradox is illustrated by the quietest room in the world, located in Washington, where people are able to endure the silence only for a limited time.It was precisely this dual nature of silence — calming yet disturbing — that I sought to reflect in my models.
