“Depression, Debt, and Everything In Between.”
PANELÁK is a 3-level narrative-driven walking simulator set in a communist-era prefab 2+1 flat. Spanning across three pivotal decades – the 1950s, 1990s, and 2000s – the game explores themes of paranoia, addiction, and economic despair.
Each level presents unique tasks that reflect the struggles of its time: finding and destroying surveillance bugs, collecting money to pay off a mafia debt, and hiding valuables during an economic collapse. The evolving flat acts as both a setting and a silent witness to the changing lives of its inhabitants, brought to life through authentic visuals, immersive sound design, and environmental storytelling.
The project emphasizes the depressive nature of prefab living, where history, survival, and personal struggles intertwine within concrete walls.
