Herb jars with decor inspired by the herbs themselves and designed for them. So I chose the specific herbs of motherwort and lovage, which I use very often in my life. The decor is based on watercolour paintings, which are procedural and automatic and are created according to how the herb affects me. I also draw on mythology, tradition and superstition. From what they have been used for throughout history. A common theme is that of casting out or protecting against the devil. Specifically, motherwort has a protective purpose and is intended for virgins against intoxication, as an herb for abortion, or against procreation. Currently, motherwort is considered a female herb and has beneficial effects on the menstrual cycle
So I created jars designed to store dried herbs. I collect and dry herbs. It’s a ritual that helps me bridge the year and navigate the cycle of the seasons. There is an order to the gathering, which I follow with a love of nature in mind.
