Plastic ocean

X-ray images capture the internal anatomy of fish, penguins, and other marine animals whose bodies contain fragments of plastic packaging, microplastics, and larger pieces of waste. This photographic series reveals a harsh reality that marine animals often carry within them for the rest of their lives—and one that is frequently the cause of their death.
