The semester project Dressed / Undressed explores the theme of optical illusion within footwear design and examines the boundary between concealing and revealing the foot. The sandal design works with visual deception, creating an impression of fragility and lightness while maintaining a functional and stable construction. The key materials used are pink leather and tulle, which is shaped into ruffles that evoke the feeling of a soft textile layer enveloping the foot. The transparency of the tulle, in contrast with the firmness of the leather, reinforces the concept of “clothed – unclothed” and emphasizes the interplay of light, volume, and movement. The sandal is complemented by a 3D-printed sole, connecting traditional craft materials with contemporary technologies and underlining the experimental character of the design. The result is an object situated on the boundary between a fashion accessory and an authorial artefact, reflecting the relationship between the body, material, and illusion.
