As a chosen topic, I focused on sustainability and worked with upcycled denim. In the creation process, I utilized artificial intelligence, which helped me generate visualizations of my ideas. My work was greatly influenced by the organic shapes of tropical flora, particularly the popular leaves of the monstera plant, which are easily recognizable. I took inspiration from the monstera leafs for the upper part, emphasizing its organic shapes with silver decorative stitching. The shapes of the monstera were formed by ironing vlizelín in the shapes of pieces onto denim, and I cleaned up their edges by tapping.
I experimented with creating stamps on the sole, which I used for printing on leather.
The women’s sandal evokes a summer vacation by the sea. While working with materials, I combined beige leather to represent the beach and blue denim inspired by the sea.
