MYTHOLOGY NARCIS

For the theme of my collection of pumps and a handbag, I chose Greek mythology, specifically the story of Narcissus. It is a myth about a young, exceptionally beautiful man who was obsessed with his own beauty and constantly gazed at his reflection on the surface of the water. He rejected the love of women and nymphs alike, which angered the goddesses and nymphs so deeply that, as punishment, he was transformed into a narcissus flower.

This story runs through the entire collection. It begins with the left pump, which represents the calm water surface and reflection. It continues with the handbag, where not only the motif of water appears, but also the beginning of the transformation. The final stage is expressed in the right pump, where the narcissus itself is already stylized.

Each pump has a different color of the insole, corresponding to a specific phase of the transformation, and is stitched around the edge. The handbag is interfaced to maintain its shape and reinforced with celestel at the bottom, allowing it to stand on its own. The process of transformation is expressed on the handbag through both color and form — green on the sides symbolizes water, while the straps suggest the stems of the narcissus.
