A pair of pumps and a handbag exploring the theme of metamorphosis, inspired by the sea’s tides. The term project focuses on the theme of metamorphosis, specifically the transformations of the sea during the phases of high and low tide. I was inspired by the constant movement of the sea surface, its variability, delicacy, and strength. I expressed the theme of metamorphosis through material and visual transformation. By combining light blue leather and white organza, I created a structure evoking waves and sea foam, symbolizing the movement of water and the transition between the individual phases of the sea. I further incorporated sand and shells into the work. These details strengthen the connection of the objects to the marine environment and help the viewer better understand the chosen theme. The result is a pair of pumps and a handbag that together form a unified whole.
