The theme I chose is sustainability in design and new technologies. As a new technology, I chose CNC, on which the wooden platform was created. The upper part is upcycled from old denim jeans.
The production of denim uses a large amount of water, so I connected this footwear with the theme of water. Furthermore, I worked with a phenomenon that occurs when lakes freeze and create bubbles. It’s a phenomenon where methane is released from dead plants and animals, rising to the surface and creating this effect. I applied this to the footwear using beads and Preciosa stones.
For the platform, I used ash wood, which intrigued me with its pattern and also its quality suitable for this purpose.
