During the week-long workshop led by Oldřich Vojta, a collection of women’s footwear with heels made from recycled textile materials, named “TY si IQ,” was created. The material “TY si IQ” originated in the workshops of the Slovak Ateliéru71, under whose auspices a sustainable fashion show was organized this year at the thirtieth Slovak Fashion Night Ball in New York. My work was also featured in this event. Thanks to this project, the footwear from our Shoe Design Studio was presented for the first time in the USA.
Each participant at the workshop had the opportunity to choose one of the materials. My attention was immediately drawn to the red textile, which, along with my design, evoked images of red ballet slippers, hence I also chose ribbon as the type of footwear fastening. The slippers are also adorned with red crystals from the PRECIOSA company, adding color and sparkle to the material.
