With kitty and without

Metamorphosis or rapid transformation

The main goal of my work was to create a handbag and high heels on the theme of metamorphosis, meaning a rapid and significant transformation. I was inspired by a personal and very sensitive event – the loss of pets. This experience represented a strong inner change for me, a transition from the joy of life to the pain of loss. The contrast between life and death thus became the central motif of the entire collection.

Each product is based on one of two cats that played an important role in my life. I infused my designs with their personality, appearance, and energy. The feline elements refer to their distinctive features, such as the silhouette of the head. I complemented this motif with a skull, which symbolizes my loss and serves as a reminder of the death of one of them. At the same time, it points to the fragility of life and the inevitability of change, which is part of every existence.

When choosing the colors, I considered not only aesthetics but also their symbolism. White represents a new beginning and purity, blue harmony and inner balance, which I was seeking after this event. Red expresses blood, vital force, but also pain and the intensity of emotions. By combining them, I create a visual contrast that supports the main idea of transformation and connects life with its finiteness.

I designed the handbag with a focus on practicality and simplicity. It is suitable for everyday use, such as for walks or for storing personal items or smaller drawing supplies. Inside, I included a small pocket for better organization of small items. The closure consists of two magnets, which not only serve a functional purpose but also complement the overall design. Aesthetics and practicality thus come together to create a cohesive whole.

The shoes form a mutually complementary pair with different meanings. Each carries a different expression and symbolism. One expresses energy and the natural pride of a cat – holding its head high, evoking strength and confidence. The other, on the contrary, captures resignation and closeness to death – the head is lowered, creating a calmer impression. Together, they create a visual and conceptual dialogue between life and death, between beginning and end.
