“Gereis represents a composition that is self-supporting. The composition is designed by anchoring the inclined surface of the main object to a board painted in the shade of Pine. It is composed of aluminum cut profiles painted with silver paint. The profiles are glued with instant glue and an activator, which enhances the stability of the entire object. The title of the composition comes from the German word ‘gereiß,’ translated as to tear or interrupt. It is intended to directly depict a move where both sides have a certain weight pulling them towards the ground, attempting to draw the other side towards itself as well. Under greater force, the composition could rupture.
The composition is gray, as this color is neutral and allows each viewer to interpret different emotions from it, whether negative or positive.”
