KOMOREBI-TRANSMISSION

I constructed this composition around the concept of the word komorebi.

Komorebi is a Japanese word that has no direct one-word equivalent in any other language and refers to light filtering through trees or leaves. I did not aim to reproduce this phenomenon literally; rather, I sought to express the emotions it evokes in me. I identified several key words that, for me, best capture the essence of komorebi, such as calm, sound, movement, light, and delicacy.

My composition consists of two parts and two materials. Aluminum wire represents the static element in the form of a branch suspended in space. The foil elements represent the leaves of the tree, and their oval shape also refers to the patterns created by sunlight as it falls onto the ground. In a sense, the composition is interactive: it evokes a calming atmosphere and produces a gentle sound effect.
