Redesign of the Qočna kindergarten in Zlín

This project focuses on the interior redesign of the University Kindergarten Qočna in Zlín. The main objective was to modernize and enhance the functionality of three classrooms – sunny, rainy and rainbow – each tailored to a specific age group. The Slnečná classroom is intended for the youngest children, Dažďová for middle-aged children, and Dúhová helps prepare the oldest children for a smooth transition to the school environment. Beyond the visual design, I placed strong emphasis on the spatial layout and equipment of each classroom. Every space is adapted to the developmental stage of the children and carefully considers their specific needs. The furniture used meets ergonomic standards and supports the developmental requirements of each age group.

Floor plan – space division

The main visual line of the design is the differentiation of space using colors. Each class is assigned a typical accent, which, in combination with neutral wood tones, contributes to a harmonious environment. The sunny class has a shade of yellow. Since this class is attended by the youngest children, it is focused on the development of the senses, containing sensory elements and games that stimulate children’s perception and cognitive development.

I have assigned a pastel turquoise shade to the rainy class. In this class, children will be able to learn physical activities and try free play in thematic corners.

The rainbow class stands out with its soft pastel combination. In this class, children prepare for the transition to the school environment and are introduced to basic knowledge. That is why it must not be missing a blackboard, a piano and various other aids intended for primary education.
