This diploma thesis deals with the revitalization of public spaces that serve for cultural enjoyment not only for the inhabitants of the nearby village, but also as a tourist destination. In the given proposal, I develop the concept and design of a cultural centre with functional zoning for the purpose of recreation and leisure activities including cultural entertainment for all ages, while trying to preserve the rural character and natural character of the place.
The diploma thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the issue of revitalization of public spaces and its specific types. The practical part then presents the actual introduction to the design of the revitalisation of the public space of the cultural centre of Bůrovce.
The main objective of the thesis is the proposal of revitalization of the public space of the cultural centre of Bůrovce, where the emphasis is on the rural character of the landscape and the functional use of the whole space so that there is cultural enjoyment and recreation for all ages, not only for local residents but also for the tourists.
