Diplomová práce na příkladu kapes dokládá, že je oděv multidisciplinárním fenoménem. Klade důraz zejména na historický vývoj, specifika odlišných typů kapes, jejich funkce a možnosti zprostředkování v rámci muzejní expozice. Právě přesahy vybraného tématu kapes do jiných oborů mohou být příkladem a argumentem, proč by se společnost měla o oděv a módu zajímat, zkoumat ji, analyzovat, vystavovat a v neposlední řadě zprostředkovávat veřejnosti. Praktická část diplomové práce se věnuje designu autorské oděvní instalace, jejíž cílem je představení východisek teoretické části. Cílem instalace Pocket Arte–Fact je pozvednout obvykle přehlížený prvek obyčejné kapsy na úroveň výstavního exponátu a věnovat mu tím zaslouženou pozornost. Přínosem a obohacením práce je zprostředkování fenoménu kapes z pohledu oděvního designera, který může k tématu přispět vlastní praktickou zkušeností a tvůrčím přístupem.
This diploma thesis proves that clothing is a multidisciplinary phenomenon by utilizing the example of pockets. Particularly, it emphasizes the historical development, the specifics of different types of pockets, their functions, and the possibility of mediation within the museum exhibition. The argument why the society should be interested in clothing and fashion and its examination, analysis, exhibition, and mediation to the public is the overlap of the topic of pockets into other fields. The practical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the design of the author’s fashion installation and its aim is to introduce the basis of the theoretical part. The goal of the Pocket Arte–Fact installation is to elevate the usually overlooked element of an ordinary pocket to the level of an item worthy of exhibition and give it the attention it deserves. The beneficial and enriching outcome of the project is the mediation of the phenomenon of pockets from the perspective of a fashion designer, who can contribute to the topic with their own practical experience and creative approach.
