Bones please

This project draws from Czech Christmas traditions connected to the preparation and consumption of carp, a typical dish served on Christmas Eve. In the past, it was common for families to keep a live carp in a bathtub before cooking it, a practice that is now becoming less frequent. Other rituals include placing a carp scale under the plate for good luck, which is later often kept in a wallet to bring financial prosperity.

The object consists of a hand-hammered metal bowl designed for collecting fish bones, accompanied by a pair of tweezers used to remove remaining bones during the meal. The tweezers are shaped like a fish, referencing a traditional Czech fish-shaped knife.
