Moravia Magna — SILENCED

“It’s not silence.
Just a world that has narrowed
to the size of a throat.”

This authorial collection of brass necklaces, inspired by the era of Great Moravia, explores the transformation of women’s status during the transition from the pagan world to Christianity. Through the contrast of open and closed forms, red beads, rosary-like structures, and the dominant cross, it engages with themes of voice, obedience, and inner silencing.

The pagan jewelry is based on principles of freedom, cyclicality, and connection to the body and nature. Its Christian counterpart, by contrast, encloses the space around the neck and establishes a rigid order in which the female voice gradually turns inward.
