The Samhain mask refers to the festival through which the Celts celebrated the arrival of the new year. They celebrated Samhain on the eve of November 1st by lighting fires and gathering for feasts. According to tradition, the fire opens the boundary between the world of the living and the dead. The deceased ancestors then take their place among their families, sharing their knowledge and telling stories.

By looking through the mask, we too cross this boundary and, for a moment, find ourselves face to face with the world of our ancestors.
