Signet rings

My design of signet rings is based on the idea of the mutual interconnection of identities. The result is a pair of silver signet rings adorned with faceted Czech garnets, produced using the lost-wax casting technique, which function on the principle of an imprint of two hands holding each other. The aim was to push the boundaries of the traditional signet ring and to give it added value—personal, symbolic, and inheritable.

When potentially passed down within a family, the rings do not transmit the identity of individuals merely through memory, but through a tangible, physical imprint. The ring thus changes its character depending on whose hands it is in. In one instance, it represents the connection of two people who share their imprints with one another, sealing their relationship through this exchange. The ring becomes an object that supports and sustains the relationship.

In the second instance, when the rings are passed on to a new generation, they are no longer bound to the specific identities of the original wearers. Symbolically, they open themselves to those who inherit them and continue to carry the idea of connection forward, even though the personal imprint has changed.
