Space to space: Elsewhere

A collection of two pieces of jewelry—a ring and a pendant made of copper and hand-cut agates—was created on the theme of Space to Space.

The inspiration was the idea of life beyond our planet, but not in the form of beings with heads, eyes, and limbs, which our imagination recycles over and over again. The organisms evoked by the jewelry are rather abstract, spatial structures – close to microorganisms, energy forms, or creations that defy human logic and experience.

This idea stems from a personal experience from childhood, when the author’s abstract concept of extraterrestrial life in an art club was not accepted because it did not correspond to the expected visual stereotypes. This experience became a bridge to reflection on how strongly human thinking can be shaped by what we know and how difficult it is to break free from learned patterns.

The jewelry follows this path—it abandons familiar, comfortable human habits and perceptions /space/ and moves into an open space where it is possible to think freely and without the need to understand through familiar contexts /to space/.
