I was most interested in the topics for the semester thesis for LS 2024, specifically the creation of a set of Czech euro coins. I started extensive research and gathered all the necessary materials. Since one side of the euro is always the same, my task was to design only the other side, which each country customizes. The biggest question was which symbols were suitable for the coins and representative enough for the Czech Republic. So, I researched what symbols other countries used. I looked into which themes appear most often on coins of specific values. Then, I began to look for coins in physical form to see which reliefs were really recognizable. This eliminated detailed themes that would not be visible. Thus, my final chosen symbols included the Czech Lion (2 euros), the Prague Astronomical Clock (1 euro), a map of the Czech Republic (50, 20, 10 cents), and a leaf of the heart-shaped lime tree (5, 2, 1 cent). I processed these designs using Adobe Photoshop and Blender.
