Digital storytelling – family tree

The assigned topic of my thesis was digital storytelling with an emphasis on timelines. Therefore, I decided to explore my own family’s history and create a personalized family tree. I named the project Memotree. It has a simple name and a minimalist visual style, featuring shades of burgundy combined with the black-and-white tones of most photographs. This is complemented by dynamic animations and a serif font.

In terms of content, Memotree allows users to explore the timeline of their ancestors’ lives, browse a 3D collection of photographs, and examine a map of places where the family originates. Memotree is a way for us to learn more about ourselves.
