For the redesign of the cover and layout, I chose the book “Po vlastní ose” by Jolana Sedláčková, which captures the author’s authentic travel experiences in the Middle East. The goal was to create a visually engaging design that would best reflect the book’s atmosphere and adventurous nature.
The original cover featured a photograph that was not taken by the author. Therefore, I decided on a concept based on textures that evoke the impressions of traveling—such as car tracks in the sand and mud, which the author encountered on her expeditions. This motif better reflects the rawness and reality of her journeys.
The book’s text is accompanied by a large number of photographs taken by the author. Working with these visual elements was a challenge, but through a well-thought-out layout, I achieved a balanced composition that enhances readability while allowing the imagery to stand out.
