Exuviae

Much like we humans grow out of clothes and buy new ones, insects shed their exoskeleton as they evolve to allow metamorphosis into the next developmental stage. This process of transformation inspired me to create a collection called Exuviae – moulted skin.

Old jeans and their upcycling became the core of the collection. In addition to basic upcycling in the first outfit, I focused mainly on the symbolic use of the jeans to create a print that became the basis for the other outfits. The entire collection follows the theme of shedding old skin and we can observe the complete cycle of this transformation in it.
