It was inspired by the Hunger Stone, which is located in the Elbe riverbed on the left bank under the Tyrš bridge in Děčín. At low water levels, it rises above the surface of the river. This Hungry Stone belongs to the oldest hydrological monuments of Central Europe. According to the name, it communicated a time of hardship, a lack of water, and a great drought brought crop failure and the stoppage of shipping. Carved signs with dates and inscriptions can still be seen today. The topic of (In)stability led me to react to the efforts to build a water level below Děčín. Efforts for this solution date back to 1653, when this rock would have been under the water level forever and so, according to legend, a permanent time of prosperity should come.
