Ferrofluid

The result of my work are objects show the connection of glass and magnetic material in the form of magnetite powder and magnetic oil (Ferrofluid). The importance of the magnet lies in my interest in Street Art, where this element is worked with. My intention was to combine this element with glass art so that its magnetic character would stand out. This created a single hanging image, which also serves as an interactive whiteboard. This allows the viewer to create their own author’s image through a magnet and a magnetic fluid that remains trapped between the two glass panes. The magnetic trace left by the movement of the magnet on the surface of the image creates a similar phenomenon to the spray trace in street art.

The second image is a symbol of the end of this work.
I sealed my credit card and magnetite between two panes of glass. Using a credit card is important in that it was my main work aid in carrying out this semester’s work. The symbolism of magnetite again lies in connection with street art, whose significance connects the two paintings.
