‘Kleerke’ is the title of my story in progress and also the name of one of its main characters.
It’s about a human girl raised by elves since infancy. Although it wasn’t my intention, I may have been inspired in part by the story of Tarzan. Only instead of apes, the main character is raised by supernatural beings. Much of the story is told from the perspective of her elven parent, Korkoran, who must come to terms with human mortality and the reality that his daughter will eventually leave him forever.
Currently, it is a series of eighteen illustrations that depict everyday moments and situations in the characters’ lives over the years.
I’ve been working on the story for a few years now, originally just as a form of escapism. However, recently I opened up to the idea of sharing it with other people.
