Spirits

Dead trees.

A separate microworld full of thousands of other, small but still important for nature animals.

They are glass sculptures of supernatural creatures from another dimension. They point out the paradox of the matter, when from a layman’s point of view a useless dead tree means nothing great to us humanity. In that case, by disposing of it, we are causing the kind of micro apocalypses that in another paradoxically inverted parallel world might instead be extremely significant.

Thus creatures flee to our world seeking asylum. New home.

Rather, they are resemble a vague spirituality, the supernatural. Since the supernatural phenomena in our world themselves have their own theories concerning other dimensions.

I created this work on the theme of parallel worlds for the Umění ve městě in České Budějovice. The work was installed in the park na Sadech and was placed there for the duration of the summer exhibition. The glass sculptures were placed on three large rocks and these were placed on the grass under the trees in the park.
