This piece represents a personal interpretation of the Fabergé egg theme as a symbol of a jewel. Jewels can mean something different to everyone—for me, they are the places I love, where I feel at home, and that I associate with friends and memories.
The exterior of the egg is adorned with embroidery depicting an aerial map of the area around my home. Inside the egg hangs a miniature house, shaped like the home I grew up in. This contrast between the outer world and the personal inner space creates a connection between the geographical and emotional significance of home.
I connected both halves of the egg with a thin thread to emphasize how easily we can break these cherished places and precious bonds, just like the threads.
