The Mask Two Faces of the Outlaw represents a fusion of two distinct worlds – the modern world of the series Money Heist and the traditional Slovak outlaw culture, symbolized by Juraj Jánošík. It connects the iconic form of the mask with themes of courage, defiance, and the desire for freedom, thereby creating a contrast between contemporary pop culture and Slovak historical tradition. The artwork explores the idea that despite different periods and circumstances, outlaws of the past and present can share common traits – their own rules, the courage to challenge authority, and the desire to change the established order. The mask thus symbolically unites two forms of rebellion and offers a new perspective on the figure of the outlaw, bringing history and the modern era together.
