This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design and realization of a capsule collection for the working woman. The aim of the thesis was to create a set of products that respond to various situations encountered throughout the working day while combining aesthetics, comfort, functionality, and female identity. The design is based on findings regarding the ergonomics of the female foot, current requirements for occupational footwear, and an analysis of the relationship between footwear, professionalism, and women’s self-confidence.
The practical outcome of the thesis is a collection consisting of three pairs of shoes and a handbag. The collection includes formal pumps intended for business environments, ballet flats for everyday office wear, and women’s safety footwear. The collection is complemented by a handbag designed with consideration for the needs of women in the workplace.
The shirt was chosen as the unifying visual element of the collection, serving as a symbol of professionalism and the working environment. Originally a characteristic element of the male wardrobe, it gradually became established in women’s fashion as well, where it came to represent competence, authority, and professional identity. Its characteristic forms and details were translated into the construction, detailing, and formal design of the individual products.
The result is a functionally and visually cohesive collection that reflects the needs of women navigating between office, formal, and industrial work environments.
