Children’s Set “Metamorphosis”

In my final project, I focused on the theme of metamorphosis, which I interpreted through a children’s set for girls consisting of footwear and a backpack. My main source of inspiration was the life cycle of a butterfly, specifically focusing on the visual structure of its wings.

In the footwear design, I used quilting to emulate the delicate organic segmentation and texture typical of insect wings. To emphasize the softness and playfulness essential for children’s shoes, I added a distinctive white fur trim at the top. This fur complements the light-colored sole and balances the chosen pink color palette of the upper.

The backpack represents a direct evolution of this motif into the form of butterfly wings. These are padded, decorated with subtle details, and finished with a prominent satin bow that enhances the overall feminine aesthetic of the set. My goal was to create a design that is not just a functional accessory, but a storyteller that translates the fragile beauty of natural transformation into the world of children’s fantasy.
