This semester project was created in collaboration with the Czech company Jonap, which specializes in the production of children’s footwear. We received soles, lasts, and materials from the company, based on which I designed and produced an original pair of children’s shoes.
In the design process, I built upon my previous semester project – women’s boots inspired by the character Willy Wonka from the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. From this inspiration, I carried over the motif of sweets, specifically a hand-painted bead in the shape of a candy, which I reintroduced into the new design – this time with an emphasis on playfulness and the world of children.
The shoes are made of bovine leather in soft pastel tones of pink and light blue, which emphasize the cheerful and friendly character of the design. A practical Velcro fastening ensures easy handling for children. The final product combines functionality, comfort, and aesthetic value, making the footwear not only practical but also visually engaging.
