Design of Boots Inspired by the Character Willy Wonka

In my semester project, I was inspired by the iconic film character Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The goal was to transfer the imaginative, playful, and at the same time mysterious world of this character into the design of women’s boots. The footwear reaches below the knee and is made from black cowhide leather, symbolizing elegance and the classic nature of Wonka’s character. The upper cuff is made of artificial pink fur, which evokes softness and sweetness associated with the chocolate world. On the fur, there are hand-painted beads shaped like sweets, adding playfulness to the boot and referencing Wonka’s magical factory. The color-coordinated heel, shaped like a lollipop, gives the footwear a striking visual element and emphasizes the theme of sweets and childlike fantasy. My aim was to create footwear that is not only wearable but also functions as an art object – fun, original, and full of details referring to the specific character and atmosphere of the film.
