Design of the TBU Trade Fair Stand for the Gaudeamus University Trade Fair

This work deals with the complete design of the Tomas Bata University trade fair exhibition for at least 3 upcoming years of the Gaudeamus university trade fair in Brno. The main requirement was to stand out from the competition and attract attention with appearance, creativity and practicality. At the same time, the stand was supposed to attract visitors and potential students. The goal was to create a freely accessible exhibition without psychological barriers using a vertical presentation with the help of one or more elements to achieve the best possible visibility between the other stands.

The original proposal presents a solution to the exhibition in the form of a wall placed in the center, which is perforated with an opening in the central part and equipped with a staircase at both ends for free passage through the exhibition from one side to the other. In space, this wall works as a bearer of the idea, slogan, logo of the university, and thanks to the opening and the staircase, it becomes a multifunctional information object for the movement of visitors. The wall itself would not be a sufficiently vertical element, so a suspended structure was placed in the space above it, which became the main attraction of the entire exhibition. This construction is here created in the form of an airship, i.e. a spatially voluminous element that cannot be overlooked in space from any angle.

Realization of the TBU Trade Fair Stand

The second (final) version of the fair stand was created for realization. The concept did not include the use of the airship’s interior space and the associated function of the staircase and the wall as a bridge over the exhibition with the possibility of looking into the airship. The new version also brought with it minor changes in the form of seating and graphics placed on the surface of the wall.
