In this semester project, I explored the theme of permeation. At the beginning, I was interested in the principle of networks and their various forms—such as spider webs, electrical wiring, root systems, or social networks. These structures represented interconnected points between which constant transmission, tension, and overlap occur. I therefore understood permeation not only as a physical phenomenon, but also as a relationship between individual layers and spaces.

In terms of material, I initially intended to work with materials I already had experience with, namely wire and cord. During the design process, however, I decided to use wire exclusively, as it allowed for more precise work with line, structure, and the openness of the object.

An important part of the process was working with color and its combinations. I divided the object into two layers, each defined by a different color. These layers physically intersect at one point while maintaining their own distinct character. From each layer, an additional element of the same color extends outward, suggesting the continuation of the object beyond its main body.

The final object functions as an open network in which permeation occurs on multiple levels—between individual layers, between mass and empty space within the openings of the structure, and also within the viewer’s imagination. The object may appear to extend beyond the defined space, for example through a wall, ceiling, or floor.
