The thesis focuses on reviving the traditional craft of rag rug weaving in the context
of sustainability and textile reuse. The theoretical part outlines the historical development
and cultural significance of this technique, while also analyzing current trends in textile recycling
and its application within sustainable practices. It also explores the benefits

and intergenerational relationships.

The practical part was developed in collaboration with senior craft practitioners skilled
in rag rug weaving. The outcome is an introductory handbook accompanied by a worksheet,
designed to present the basics of the technique in an accessible way. The material serves
as a first encounter with the topic and promotes environmentally responsible behavior, creativity,
and social connection.
