The Issue of Mental Anxiety as Part of the Concept of More Accessible Exhibition Institutions

This thesis focuses on the issue of anxiety experienced by visitors to exhibition venues and inclusive programs. These visitors’ experience of cultural events is disrupted by anxiety arising as a direct reaction to the layout of the institutional space and the program. Through case studies, the thesis maps how selected Czech cultural institutions and programs address mental health issues and identifies barriers and opportunities for the specific experience of the anxious visitor. The result is a synthesis intended to open a discussion about a specific group of visitors who are not explicitly named in the available materials from the analyzed institutions.
