This work was completed for an upcoming exhibition – remembering Frantisek Crhak. Geometric work, the relationship between objects and their negative space used to be purely analog – without a computer. All the work had to be done by relying only on precision and mathematics.
In my work I focus on studying and understanding geometry using previously non-existant technology – digital tools. The subject of my work, the czech hedgehog, was chosen because of rising frustration and fear of the current political situation in Europe and the rest of the world alike. Firstly I deconstructed the hedgehog to its basic planes and then I procedurally put it back together to its complete form. This transformation symbolizes the instability in today’s world and the threat of war.
The animation was completed using TouchDesigner and then put into an educational motion poster. The typeface used is from a Czech type foundry called Displaay.
