Infographics – News tickers

As part of a project to create infographics, I focused on the issue of News Tickers in TV broadcasting.
A key aspect is that moving information to the bottom of the screen often overloads viewers’ cognitive abilities, a problem evident in American media. In contrast, European media and news are often characterized by a clear visual identity and effective infographics that do not overwhelm the viewer.

My research has focused on a different aspect of this issue, namely the fact that running information in News Tickers may not always only provide additional content that offers alternative information when the presenter’s current content is not sufficiently appealing to the viewer but may also provide superior information when the news provides a lack of narrower journalistic content in fast-paced news to help the viewer better understand the overall context of the news and relevant information.
