SKODA Car-map Interface

Assignment Definition

To design an intuitive and understandable map interface for vehicles that provides the driver with a clear overview of the traffic situation through smooth visual transitions and optimized visualization.

Progress

The project is spread over 3 semesters.

In the first part, I focused on researching current navigation systems and their future. However, the majority of the time was spent exploring Blender, where I tested and planned the animation and transitions. I emphasized the technical side to ensure that in the next semester I could work efficiently with the assets I had prepared. This included an adjustable camera view, a rigged vehicle, and a workflow for preparing the terrain.

In the second semester, I dedicated myself to visualizing 3 different levels of detail. From a classic 2D map, through a transitional map with 3D elements, to a complete 3D environment with a car model. I created a project in Blender where parameters controlling the car’s movement or camera zoom can be dynamically changed.

In the third semester, all that remained was to prepare the presentation and take a trip to Mladá Boleslav, where the concept was successfully presented.
