TAINTED TYPOGRAPHY – WEBFLOW PROJECT

“Tainted Typography – Webflow Project” is where I set out to create a website that aims to showcase the Tainted Regular font. I used Webflow tools to present it, which allowed me to create a page full of visual elements without having to deal with complex coding as a whole. You can view the project in real time at the web address listed here.

The main idea behind this project was to capture the unique beauty found in the beauty flaws of the dried leaves in the Singapore Botanic Gardens and translate it into writing. Tainted Regular is such a result, inspired by the sharp edges, holes and curved edges of dried leaves. Everything that is often neglected or overlooked. The lettering takes on its own character from the way the dried leaves bend and fold, and is deliberately punctuated with holes and curved edges to pay homage to those natural imperfections found in the garden.

On the page, I start with an elegant display of the font name, which gradually shrinks to become part of the top navigation bar with a menu and a button to buy the font. As you scroll down, you will be taken to a description of the font and a brief introduction to the creator. The next part of the page is dedicated to a closer look at the individual characters of the font, presented in a bubble.

Next, as you scroll down the page, you’ll experience that magical moment when the background turns from dark to white, symbolizing the transition from crumpled leaves to pure writing. In the following section, you will get an overview of various projects where this font is used – from posters to inspirational photos of the leaves and the characters themselves.
