The Minute

or how little is enough …

In my project, I wanted to take the situation in Ukraine from a different angle than I had the opportunity to see around me so far. Instead of a monument, a simulator, maps and similar approaches, I focused on a series of short hand animations called The Minute, which briefly show the horrors of war in a non-sorbent light. The animations are situated in moments. The so-called Before the disaster. To moments that change in the moment human destinies, their perception of the world, and their further direction. Short examples from three perspectives: Global, Local and purely personal should impress the viewer’s emotions. However, it is quite probable that he will not catch the perceptions and the idea of catching it at the first sighting. Why? There is another intention to achieve authenticity in the fact that people who have experienced stories depicted in animations often did not have more time to make decisions than the viewer. But without the luxury of being able to look at the situation again …

The animations are divided into two parts. A cream background with a black drawing for the moments before the war, and with a black background and a white drawing for the horrors and losses that this war, and nothing else, caused.

The animations are intended mainly for social networks, ie mobile devices, or not too large screens, where therefore not too much detail was needed, thanks to which the animation got a rougher character and better reflects the current situation.
