“Vězení dějin” is a documentary about a prison in Uherské hradiště. Our task was to create a visual identity for this emerging film. However, the main theme of the film is not the prison in Uherské hradiště, but the “prison” of history. The essence of the film is to point out historical events that are long gone and therefore it is necessary to approach them differently.
So in my work I tried to avoid a direct connection with the prison itself and I focused mainly on the aspect of history and the passage of time. I worked with the motif of declining plaster, which symbolically reveals different layers of time. I created a simulation of the plaster falling off three layers of walls, on which the name of the film is always written in a different font. From this, a logotype was created, which in itself functions as a typographic collage throughout history.
