I am not feeling well, therefore I’m creating a little cosmos. A place where I can hide and escape to. At the same time, however, I am confronting my own escapist tendency. Exposing oneself is a way to try and deal with this issue within me and work on finding other possibilities.
The visuals are inspired directly by my automatic drawings. They are a means of accepting my emotions and of reflecting the reality I live in. Automatic drawing is a pure, simple and authentic medium, and therefore it is, to me, one of the most liberating spaces imaginable.
The setup for the animation was formed by layering glass planes on top of each other, together creating an entire cosmos. This then serves as the backdrop for several short scenes which deal with my tendency to escape and conceal myself.
